1 Our approach to privacy
iStruct2D (the “App”) is designed to keep your work yours. The structural analysis runs entirely on your device, you don't need an account, and the App does not track you or display advertising. We collect as little as possible — and where information is involved at all, this policy tells you what, why and who handles it.
2 Information we don't collect
The App does not require you to create an account or provide personal details to draw, solve or read results. It does not include advertising or third-party advertising trackers, and the developer does not sell your personal information. The structures you model are not sent to the developer.
3 Data stored on your device
Projects you create — your members, supports, loads and results — are stored locally on your device. They remain under your control. You are responsible for backing up your work; you can export project files and keep them wherever you choose, and exported files are shared only when you choose to share them. Removing the App removes its locally stored projects from the device.
4 Beta testing & diagnostics
iStruct2D is distributed through the Apple App Store and is currently in beta. If you have enabled “Share with App Developers” (or “Share iPad Analytics”) in your device settings, Apple may provide the developer with crash reports and basic, aggregated usage statistics to help improve stability and quality. This information is handled by Apple under Apple's terms and privacy policy, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Analytics & Improvements. If you contact the developer to report a problem, any details you choose to share — such as a screenshot, your device model, operating-system version and the app version — are used only so the issue can be reproduced and fixed.
5 Device permissions
The App only requests system access when a feature you use needs it — for example, the file system or share sheet when you export or import a project. These actions happen at your request, and the App does not access your contacts, location, photos, microphone or camera for analysis.
6 This website
This marketing website is static and does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. It loads web fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests those files from Google and Google may receive your IP address and user-agent as part of that request. Our hosting provider may also keep standard server logs (such as IP address and request details) for security and reliability. Links to external services — such as the Apple App Store and LinkedIn — are governed by those services' own privacy policies.
7 Children's privacy
iStruct2D is intended for a general audience of students, educators and engineers, and is not directed at children. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8 Your choices & control
Because your projects live on your device, you control them directly: edit, export or delete them at any time, and remove the App to erase its local data. You can manage diagnostic sharing through your device settings (Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Analytics & Improvements). For any request about information the developer may hold, contact the developer using the details in section 11.
9 International use
iStruct2D is offered from Australia. Where third parties such as Apple, Google or our hosting provider are involved, your information may be processed in other countries in accordance with those providers' policies. By using the App or this website you understand that limited information may be handled in this way.
10 Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time as the App evolves and as new platforms are released. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App or this website after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
11 Contact
iStruct2D is independently owned and developed by Weng Chong LAO, co-developed in collaboration with The University of Queensland. For any privacy question or request, contact the developer on LinkedIn, or see the Support page for more ways to get in touch.
Privacy-first by design: no account, no tracking, no ads — your projects stay on your device.
